Right Here and Tomorrow Long Table workshop

Big Shop Friday | Wednesday 16 November | 6 - 7.30pm | FREE

16-25 & in Milton Keynes? Others are airing their views on the joys & frustrations of being young in 2022, contributing to a new zine being published soon.

If you have an opinion on something affecting under 25s that you want to be heard by the ‘people in power’, then this is your chance.

This informal, discussion based workshop is suitable for anyone interested in doing something new & being sociable. Also great for anyone interested in changing societal narratives around Gen Z. Perfect for creatives & ‘non-creatives’ alike.

Hosted by Tara Page & Victoria Gibb from Offset.

About the zine

The zine will be called Right Here & Tomorrow. It hopes to showcase talent of under 25s across Milton Keynes and create a platform for young communities to celebrate, raise awareness and vent their opinions on what really matters to them - from societal issues, to hobbies like sport or gaming, to the latest trends. It’s being developed with Lu Williams and Offset Projects, with an editorial team of under 25s and in consultation with young communities across MK.

It is structured by ‘Long Table Etiquette’ which allows voices to be heard equally without hierarchy. Long tables are often used to cultivate community and encourage the sharing of community knowledge around difficult conversations.

Long Tables have been held around the world in venues such as universities, festivals, and arts organisations. They can be used as a means to generate discussion on any topic and previous examples include Democracy & Technology; Feminism; and Gender & Citizenship.
