A new manifesto for Learning & Engagement
Today we joined GEM’s online webinar for a thought-provoking afternoon attended by over 300 educators from the galleries and museums sector. The event shared the national perspective in relation to cultural education and the developing new sector wide ‘Manifesto for Learning and Engagement’.
Sharon Heal, Director of the Museums Association, David Anderson, Director General at Amgueddfa-Cymru (National Museum Wales), and Dhikshana Pering, Head of Engagement & Skills at Somerset House provided a series of provocations and workshops looking at how Covid-19 and Black Lives Matter will begin to reshape learning and engagement in museums. Leading practitioners joined Sharon Heal, who chaired the seminar, to explore the current state and future potential of museum learning and engagement and discuss how the new Learning and Engagement Manifesto can help shape the future of our work with individuals and communities.
